He died April 15, 2006 9 months after having heart surgery.  "

He was working toward a Masters in degree in Special Education working with the deaf.

"He signed a contract with the new Christy Minstrels to sing and play guitar nationally.  Moving to Reno, NV he began building subdivision, custom homes and commercial projects."

by the time he became ill, he had recorded 2 CD's of mostly original music with his friend, in a jazz band they called "River"
