Hi Judi
Today I received some really sad news about one of our friends and fellow classmates. Michele Pinizzotto has gone on to be with the Lord after suffering from a brief illness last month. She was my closest friends all through elementary school, and on through high school. The call came in this evening from her brother Michael Pinizzotto. Shell was not only my closest friend, but we both became interested in music influenced by the Everly Brother in the 50's, and the Beatles in the 60's. We both went on to become professional musicians.
In 1966 Shell founded an all-girl rock band; first the Lady Birds, then Daisy Chain, and finally BIRTHA, signing a recording contract with ABC-Dunhll Records. BIRTHA released two international albums and four singles. They toured the U.S., Europe, and parts of Canada. Birtha had quite a following!
