Jim and I were good friends in high school  and he enjoyed life and was usually smiling. Many Friday nights we went "cruising" in his fathers T Bird. It was a very fast car.  Thru Jim, I met Clark Wilson, another high school friend. Was really disappointed to hear of Jim's passing. Last I heard, he was practicing dentistry in Albuquerque N.M. RIP Jim.

Our 1965 FUHS classmates, Jim L. Zimmer, passed away on Wednesday, 22 March 2017. Jim died at his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Jim was one of my very best friends, all through high school and ever since. We had kept in touch through years. I had spoken with Jim only days before his passing and I was planning a trip out to Albuquerque see him.

Jim was born on 10 October 1947. He attended the University of California at Santa Barbara, California and graduated from The Northwestern School of Dentistry. He was ranked as one of the best dentists in Albuquerque, NM. Dr. Zimmer was voted by his peers and colleagues as the “Top Cosmetic Dentist in Albuquerque in 2007”, Top Cosmetic Dentist, a Top General Dentist in 2008 and 2009, His career as a distinguished top ranking dentist has been published in Albuquerque’s, The Magazine.

Dr. Zimmer was a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, New Mexico Dental Association, and Albuquerque District Dental Society. He had distinguished himself through a meticulous program of continuing education courses in both general and cosmetic dentistry. Jim recently had retired from his very successful dental practice in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Jim’s former wife, Linda, had said that they think Jim might have died of an aneurysm. Jim’s body has been cremated and his ashes spread off Catalina Island at a private ceremony.
